Professor Mary Lou Guerinot named Salk Institute Non-Resident Fellow

Professor Mary Lou Guerinot has been named a Salk Institute non-resident fellow.  She joins an eminent group of scientific advisors who provide guidance for the Institute's leadership.

"We are thrilled and honored to welcome Mary Lou as our newest Nonresident Fellow," says Salk President Rusty Gage. "Her research lays the foundation for fortifying food crops and offering sustainable plant-based solutions for removing toxic metals from soil, holding promise for improving agricultural productivity and human health."

Professor Guerinot is internationally recognized for her pioneering work in plant metal metabolim.  She is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, an American Association for the Advancement of Science fellow, American Society of Plant Biologists fellow and past president as well as several other prestigious memberships and appointments.
