Research

Dartmouth’s Department of Biological Sciences is unique for its diverse population of scientists who specialize in cell, molecular, genetic, plant, and evolutionary biology, as well as ecology.

Our program is far-reaching, with strong relationships throughout Dartmouth's schools, as reflected by our Ecology, Evolution, Ecosystems and Society (EEES) and Molecular and Cellular Biology (MCB) programs. Our faculty include five members of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).

Dartmouth biologists conduct research in state-of-the-art facilities including the Class of 1978 Life Sciences Center, the light microscopy facility, the greenhouse, and Hubbard Brook Research Station.
