Miranda Zammarelli

Ph.D. Candidate - Ayres Lab

I am interested in ornithology, population ecology, spatial ecology, and bioacoustics. My research focuses on understanding how songbird territory size and territory quality influence their reproductive success and how often they sing. My two study species are the Black-throated Blue Warbler and the Ovenbird, which vary in life histories, nesting locations in the forest, and their interactions with the green and brown food webs. I want to understand how these differences play a role in their territory selection. My research takes place at Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest.
