Colleagues,

We would like to invite you to a first meeting of a cross-campus Working Group on Climate Solutions, sponsored by the Neukom Institute and held in the NI space in Haldeman Center Room 252, June 12, 12-4 (lunch will be served). The goal of this working group is to better integrate the work going on around campus related to the study of and responses to climate change, especially those efforts directed toward reducing the severity of climate change (mitigation) and impacts of climate change (adaptation) - i.e., the "solutions”.

To that end we invite anyone who is already working in this area as well as those who want to start such work. We hope that this idea speaks to all divisions and schools at Dartmouth and look forward to a broad-based and highly interdisciplinary sharing of ideas, ranging across the Arts and Sciences, Engineering, Medicine, and Business. We know that Dartmouth has all kinds of work going on in this important space and we proceed with the thesis that the more we can be aware of one another's work the better we can do it. We realize that given the timing, some who are interested might not be able to make this meeting, but we anticipate that this is just the first of many.

Here is a link to a sign-up (google) sheet. Note that even if you can't make this event but want to be a part of future events there is a place to indicate that on this sheet, so if interested in any way at all, please do make use of the sheet.

We look forward to building community around this important work,

Klaus Keller (Thayer)

Justin Mankin (GEOG)

Mathieu Morlighem (EARS)

Caitlin Pries (BIOL)

Dan Rockmore (MATH/COSC)

Helene Seroussi (Thayer)

Justin Strauss (EARS)

Jonathan Winter (GEOG)
